how far out should I order my gown?

Made-to-order gowns take between 8-10 months to arrive in store. We suggest leaving up to 4 months to allow for alterations prior to your wedding date. This is especially true right now as we are in our busiest season! Your ideal time to order is between 12-14 months. This is the ideal, not the absolute. Keep in mind, most designers will require a rush fee with less than 5 months prior to the event date. If you have any concerns about your timeline, be sure to chat with your stylist, as they will be able to provide you with the best, up-to-date information!
 

how much are your gowns?

Our bridal gowns typically range from $2,500-$12,000 with the majority sitting between $3,500-$5,500. Please take this into account when booking in with us as we will only showcase the gowns during your appointment within your ideal spend!

what is a trunk show?

A trunk show is an exclusive preview of a designer’s full collection, usually in store over one to two weekends. This is a great opportunity to try on samples that we may not have in store year round from your favourite designers!

do I need an appointment to shop at b&r?

Yes! In order to give you the very best, intimate & fully personalized experience, our boutique is open by appointment only.  We recommend booking in advance as our weekend appointments book 4-6 weeks in advance.

what if I am travelling to b&r from outside of the city?

We are partnered with Hotel Arts which is located downtown in Calgary, AB! If you are visiting us from out of town or just looking for a inner city vacay, we offer preferred pricing to our B&R brides and Hotel Arts guests!

what can I expect?

At B&R, we strive to keep your appointment as refined as possible (which means it is not your typical bridal experience). Your initial bridal appointment will run for 1 hour. Your follow-up is usually about half of that time. Your entire appointment will be spent with a personal stylist who will pull dresses, jewelry, and accessories, based on who you are, your vision and key elements that are important to you for your big day!

what can I do to prepare for my appointment?

In order for us to be fully prepared for your time at B&R, always keep us informed regarding the number of people attending your appointment, the designer or style you are interested in, your budget, and any additional wedding inspiration or other details you would like to share with us! All of this information will be collected in our Appointment Request form.

Because our space is intimate, please only arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment. We recommend wearing nude undergarments, hair up or tied back, and little or no makeup. This will help us to ensure the dress fitting is a seamless process throughout the appointment!

will your samples fit me?

While most of our floor samples are between sizes 8-12, we do carry samples up to size 18. We have some clips, slips and tricks that give you the most accurate representation to your best suited size. In addition, our designers are extremely versatile and happy to work with us to ensure your gown is ordered closest to your ideal fit. It is important to us that our designers can offer versatility in sizing for all bodies. Most of our designers can range from a size 0-32.

how many people should I bring to my appointment?

We understand you want to have your nearest & dearest by your side when you find the one! We are an intimate space and truly believe you deserve a comfortable and personal experience, we ask you limit your group to those who you truly value their opinion and are there to support you. If you would like to bring a larger group, we offer a boutique buyout to ensure everyone has the space to enjoy their experience.

For safety reasons, we ask you do not bring children if they are out of their carriers. Food and coloring materials are also not permitted in the boutique. If you have a child out of the carrier attending with your party, please contact the boutique for special approval.

is there an appointment booking fee?

Due to the personalized and one-on-one nature of our appointments, a non-refundable fee will be required to confirm your booking. The fee only applies to first time bookings and we are always happy to book you a complimentary second appointment if you need a little bit more time. If you are not local, please notify us ahead of time so we can try to accommodate extra time with you if needed! what is Blush & Raven’s refund policy?

B&R is considered a “Stockist” not a “Retailer”. We are a by-appointment only boutique, with a showroom of sample inventory. This means, all items purchased are considered “Made to Order” at individual customer request. Therefore, all purchases are non-refundable and non-exchangeable after a purchase has been made.

what is Blush & Raven’s appointment cancellation policy?

Any appointments (including follow up bookings) that are cancelled within less than 24 hours, including; forfeited appointments or no shows will be charged an additional fee to the appointment booking of $100.00 + GST.

where can I park?

There's always lots of parking in our area! There is street parking along 10th ave or the neighbouring streets, as well as a lot across the street from us! Once you arrive, take the elevator up to the second floor. Check out our Contact Page for a detailed Google map.

will I need alterations on my dress?

Even with made to order gowns, you will require alterations to your gown once it arrives. Although we do measure you, we order based on standard size charts provided by the designer and our bodies can fluctuate, change or just require some extra tailoring to get that perfect fit for your day! Even in the case that your gown is ordered “made-to-measure”, without your body being with the designer while they cut the dress, there will still be tweaking necessary! While we don't do in house alterations at B&R, we work very closely with an extremely talented and reputable specialist in the city.

As a note: we are entering the busiest season of alterations and therefore we recommend booking your alterations appointment in advance! If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, be sure to chat with your stylist about when to contact an alterations specialist!
